How to Properly Cite Articles
and Information
From Our Websites
It is important to
properly cite our pages if you use them in a bibliography, footnote or
other published way. This will help others to find the referenced material
for themselves if they wish.
Citations should
include the following: The title of the article or page where the
information is located. This should be in quotation marks. The name of
the author, compiler or editor. This can be found below the title. The
name of the Website. Please capitalize the "T" and the
"V" in any of our Websites that use the name Temescal Valley
in them, leaving out the "http://".
The date that you accessed the information. Finally, the URL of the page
being cited. This is the Web address where the referenced material is on
the Internet. Each piece of information should be separated by a comma.
This is an
example of a correct citation from the Cabrillo
page at www.TemescalValleyTimes.com:
"Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo,
His Report Gives Insight on the Indians of
Temescal Valley in the Sixteenth Century", Larry Hunt,
www.TemescalValleyTimes.com,
January 29 0000, http://www.temescalvalleytimes.com/history-by-persons-juan-rodriguez-cabrillo.htm"
